Volunteering at Inverleith ASC

Inverleith Amateur Swimming Club is run exclusively by volunteers who give up their time freely to coach, manage the club and officiate at swimming events.

Every training session, competition or fundraising event that your swimmer takes part in requires support from a team of volunteers.

We need YOUR help to run an efficient and successful swim club - whether you can offer a commitment to a role with defined regular tasks or whether you prefer to help on an occasional basis.  We expect all our swimming families to help in some way.  Read on and click on the dropdowns for more information on how you can help.

The involvement of volunteers is a cornerstone of our success as a club. Without the continuous support from parents, guardians, and family members, we would not be able to run our club effectively. By volunteering, you can have a direct impact on our swimmers' development and the overall sustainability of the club.

To minimise risk and keep children safe, all our volunteers are recruited in line with Scottish Swimming's Safer Recruitment Policy.  Some roles are "regulated" and this requires you to hold a PVG with the club (we will help you apply for this if it is needed).

Opportunities for Volunteers

We are always seeking volunteers for a variety of roles within the club. These include:

  • Assisting on poolside
  • Timekeeping and judging during competitions
  • Lifeguarding
  • Organizing events
  • Fundraising efforts
  • Providing administrative support

How to Get Started

Check out the suggestions and role descriptions in the dropdowns and if you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to any committee member or click here.

All the necessary training and guidance will be provided to ensure you're confident and able to contribute in your role.

The Value of Volunteering

Your time and effort is essential to the smooth running of the club and also creates a supportive environment where swimmers can thrive. Every contribution counts, no matter how big or small.
